Riverdale, N.Y. (March 6, 2006)-For the second consecutive week the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference has recognized a Manhattan Men's Lacrosse player with a weekly award. For his efforts in helping to preserve the Jaspers' 6-5 win over Sacred Heart this past Saturday, junior goal keeper
Justin Henry earned the title of MAAC Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week, it was announced by the conference office on Monday.
Henry, who was a 2005 Second Team All-MAAC selection, played all 64 minutes in Manhattan's victory to notch his first victory of the young season. He stopped 13 of Sacred Heart's 18 shots on goal, including the Pioneers' lone shot in overtime. Last season, the Long Island native recorded a 9.68 GAA.
Last week, Henry's understudy, freshman
John Geagan made the MAAC Weekly Honor Roll, as he was named the MAAC Rookie of the Week for his performance in net against Air Force. Junior attackman
Brian Murray was last week's Offensive Player of the Week.
Manhattan returns to action as the Jaspers travel back to Connecticut on Wednesday, March 8 to battle Quinnipiac in Hamden.
