Brooke Alverson has been named the next head coach of the Manhattan University women's volleyball program, as announced by Director of Athletics Irma Garcia on March 16.Â
A former resident of Riverdale, Alverson arrives to Manhattan after a previous stint within New York City, serving as Associate Head Coach at Fordham during the 2025 season.Â
Previously at Fordham, she served as Director of Administration and Branding for their women's basketball program, increasing social media following across all platforms by 12%.Â
Originally from the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, she spent the three years prior at West Texas A&M, most notably as an assistant coach on the 2022 NCAA Division II National Championship team for the Lady Buffs. Her final two years were spent in the athletic communications office, holding the title of Assistant Director of Athletic Communications.Â
Prior to her stints in the NCAA, Alverson also took an assistant coaching role with NJCAA program Navarro College, where the program was nationally ranked.Â
Her roots run deep in Texas, establishing Pineywoods Volleyball Club in 2015. In addition, she worked with the North Texas Region of USA Volleyball as an administrative assistant. Working with over 210 clubs, she established recruiting pipelines that she still taps into today.Â
As a player at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Alverson was a two-time All-Southland conference selection, where she later graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Radio and Television Broadcast.
