Anthony Kurtin brings a distinguished record of leadership and success to his role as the Deputy Athletic Director at Manhattan University. With over two decades of experience in athletic administration and coaching, he has consistently demonstrated a commitment to excellence and student-athlete development.

Before joining Manhattan in August 2023, Kurtin served as the Athletic Director at Fordham Prep for eight years. Under his leadership, the athletic department achieved unprecedented success, securing CHSAA New York City or New York State championships in baseball, basketball, cross country, golf, hockey, lacrosse, outdoor track and field, soccer and tennis. Additionally, Fordham Prep won a New York State Federation title in swimming and diving and two varsity eight New York State titles in crew. One of his significant achievements was crafting the school’s first Athletics Strategic Plan published in 2022. This plan focuses on cultivating student-athletes and enhancing staffing, programming, development, and facilities. One of its early successes was the establishment of the new Fitness and Wellness Center.

Kurtin's tenure at Fordham Prep was marked by his dedication to mentoring the Rams’ coaching staff and fostering a culture that emphasized teamwork, excellence, humility, and servant leadership. His influence ensured that student-athletes not only excelled in their sports but also developed valuable life skills.

Prior to his role at Fordham Prep, Kurtin made significant contributions at St. Francis College. From 2001 to 2007, he served as the head coach of track and field. He was then promoted to Assistant Athletic Director from 2007 to 2011 and subsequently to Associate Athletic Director from 2011 to 2015. His time at St. Francis was characterized by his strategic vision and commitment to enhancing the athletic programs.

Kurtin's extensive experience, strategic acumen, and dedication to student-athlete development make him a vital asset to Manhattan University Athletics. His leadership continues to drive the athletic department toward new heights of success and excellence.

Kurtin graduated from St. Francis in 2000 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. He also earned a master’s degree in guidance and counseling from Brooklyn College.
