Callan Stores is in her tenth year at Manhattan University and her third as Associate Head Coach. She previously served six seasons as an assistant coach and began her tenure with the Jaspers as the Director of Women’s Basketball Operations for one season.
In her current role, Stores works primarily with the team’s post players, after spending two years developing the perimeter guards. She also serves as the program’s international recruiting coordinator, helping Manhattan establish one of the most internationally diverse rosters in the MAAC.
In 2023, Stores was recognized by Silver Waves Media on its 75 Rising Stars: Impactful Women’s Mid-Major Assistants List. And recently was selected to the WBCA's Next Generation Institute Class of 2025; which selects top assistant coaches around the country who are ready to take that next step to head coach.
Her player development impact has been seen consistently throughout her time at Manhattan. During the 2023–24 season, she guided forward Petra Juric to an All-MAAC Second Team selection, following Juric’s All-MAAC Tournament Team honor in 2022–23 after Manhattan reached its second championship game appearance in three years. Despite an injury-shortened 2021–22 campaign, Juric also earned All-MAAC Rookie Team recognition under Stores’ mentorship.
Previously, Stores played a key role in the career of standout center Courtney Warley, who became the only player in program history to earn all-league honors five times. Under Stores’ guidance, Warley developed into one of the most accomplished players in Manhattan history, finishing her career ranked first in offensive rebounds (419), second in total rebounds (1,206), and 10th in points (1,295), among many other program records. Warley also collected multiple All-Met and All-ECAC honors.
Earlier in her Manhattan career, Stores mentored Dee Dee Davis to a unanimous MAAC All-Rookie Team selection in 2018–19, when the freshman led the team in scoring, and helped Sydney Watkins develop into one of the league’s top three-point shooters.
Before entering the coaching ranks, Stores enjoyed a decorated playing career. A former Northeast Conference (NEC) Player of the Year at Sacred Heart, she graduated as the program’s all-time leading rebounder (1,123) and second all-time leading scorer (1,822). She was named the 2011–12 NEC Player of the Year after averaging 16.3 points and 9.6 rebounds, while also earning ECAC Division I All-Star Second Team honors.
She helped lead Sacred Heart to two NEC championships (2009, 2012) and was named to the All-Tournament Team after both titles. In the 2009 NCAA Tournament, she posted 24 points and seven rebounds against Ohio State. She was also the 2011–12 NEC Female Student-Athlete of the Year and a 2010–11 CoSIDA Academic All-District selection.
Following graduation, Stores spent four seasons playing professionally overseas, excelling in Finland, Spain, Australia, and Portugal. Highlights of her career include:
	-
Leading Turun Riento (Finland) in scoring and rebounding while guiding the team to its first-ever playoff berth.
-
Helping Club Baloncesto Al-Qazeres (Spain) earn league co-championship honors and a trip to the “Fase Final,” while being named to the All-Star Five.
-
Capturing league Co-MVP honors and the prestigious Halls Medal Award with Woodville District Basketball Club (Australia) after leading the league in scoring, rebounding, and field goal percentage.
-
Being named the unanimous league MVP with Sport Lisboa e Benfica (Portugal), where she again paced her team in scoring and rebounding.
Stores graduated cum laude from Sacred Heart with a degree in exercise science and later earned a master’s degree in organizational leadership from Manhattan College in 2019.
