Former Jaspers star Kelton Cumberbatch is in his seventh season as a volunteer assistant coach at his alma mater. A 2009 graduate with a degree in physical education, he works with the sprinters and hurdlers.

Cumberbatch won three consecutive Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) titles in the 400 meter hurdles was named Co-Most Outstanding Performer for Track Events at the 2009 outdoor meet, when he also claimed the MAAC title in the 400 meters.  Overall, Cumberbatch earned five MAAC Championships while helping the Jaspers win four straight team titles both indoors and outdoors.  In addition, he qualified for the NCAA East Preliminary Round in the 400 hurdles as a senior.

He continued competing for several years after his graduation and has a personal-best time of 50.82 seconds in the 400 hurdles.

A six-time MAAC All-Academic Team selection, Cumberbatch was named to the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team in 2009.  He currently teaches physical education at the Ethical & Cultural Fieldston School.
