Director of Cross Country Kerri Gallagher is pleased to announce that Ena Leufroy will be joining her staff as an assistant coach.

Leufroy will primarily work with the cross country runners and middle-distance runners. Leufroy will also serve as the team's recruiting coordinator.

"I am thrilled to bring Ena Leufroy onto the Cross Country, Track and Field coaching staff," Said Gallagher. "Her experience as a student-athlete, post-collegiate athlete, high school and most recently collegiate coach will give our athletes another relatable coach and mentor as they continue their development as well-rounded high-achieving students and athletes. Her personability and enthusiasm for the sport suits her well for her primary administrative role of heading our recruiting efforts and I look forward to continuing to build on the rich tradition of our program as she adds to the talent of our current staff."

Leufroy brings a wealth of experience to Riverdale and will be an invaluable asset to the program.

Leufroy is no stranger to New York City, coming to Manhattan from Long Island University. While with the Sharks, Leufroy worked with the long sprinters while serving as an assistant coach and handling all administrative work for the program.

Prior to coming to New York, Leufroy found herself on the west coast in the Los Angles high school track and field scene. Leufroy served as the head coach at the Archer School for Girls where she made an immediate impact. 2019 was her first year and the team and the cross country had its best finish at the league meet in the history of the program. She also was tasked with strengthening her runners through the use of calisthenics, and plyo-metrics.

Leufroy also made stops at Santa Monica High School and Wildwood High School before making her return to the collegiate coaching ranks.

As a runner, Leufroy competed under the banner of the University of Miami. She was an All-American in the 4x400 during her freshman year. In high school, Leufroy won 800m from 2003-2005 in the state of Georgia. in 2005, she won with a time of 2:08.64, which was the fastest time in state history, and eighth in the nation at the time.
