John Chan was a four-year member of the Manhattan men's swimming and diving team from 2010 through 2014.

In 2014, he served as one of the men’s team captains, and swam to a personal best in his 100 freestyle at the 2014 MAAC Championships.

As a Jasper, he competed primarily in the 50- and 100 freestyle events as well as the 100 breaststroke. His times in each event decreased during each of his four years as a member of the team.

Chan arrived at Manhattan following four seasons as a member of the John Jay East Fishkill swimming team.

In 2014, Chan graduated from Manhattan with a B.S. in Accounting , becoming the eighth member of his family to attend from the college.

His sister, Catherine, also competed on the Manhattan swimming team from 2006-2010.
