Jack Runkel

Jack Runkel is in his second year as an Assistant Coach with the Manhattan Men's Lacrosse program.

Runkel is in charge of goaltenders along with serving as the Assistant Defensive Coordinator.  

He arrived in Riverdale after spending two seasons as an assistant at Yale University, where he helped lead the Bulldogs to back-to-back Ivy League Championships. During his time at Yale, Runkel oversaw the development and instruction of the goaltenders while also assisting the strength & conditioning staff in preparing practice plans for the team.

Runkel also created and served as the Director of the BoneYard Lacrosse Club in New Haven, CT. In that time he has built rosters for six teams and had four players commit to Division I in the program's first three months.

Runkel began his collegiate coaching career at Georgetown, working with the Hoya goalkeepers during the 2015 season and oversaw the development of All Big East goalie Nick Marrocco.

No stranger to success on the playing field, Runkel served as the starting goalie for Loyola's 2012 NCAA Championship team and was named to the All-Tournament team during the Greyhounds' run to the to the title. As a senior in 2014, he was named a United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) All-American while earning Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Year honors.
