FLUSHING MEADOWS, N.Y. – On a beautiful Wednesday afternoon at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, the Manhattan College women’s tennis team (1-10, 0-7 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) dropped a 7-0 decision to Fairfield (6-7, 5-2 MAAC).

Fairfield took the doubles point by earning a pair of 8-4 victories.  Allison Radde and Helen Abbot defeated Caitlin Bricketto (Coral Springs, Fla.) and Alyssa Rosello (Garden City, N.Y.) at No. 1 doubles, while Manhattan’s No. 2 tandem of Gabriella Leon (Woodmere, N.Y.) and Diana Onichshenko (Semey, Kazakhstan) fell to Sarah Stuhlmann and Emma Samson.

In singles action, Leon battled back in the second set against Radde before ultimately falling 6-0, 6-3 in the No. 1 position.  At No. 2 singles, Bricketto suffered a 6-2, 6-3 defeat against Stuhlmann.  Nicole Aragones beat Rosello 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3 singles, while Onichshenko lost 6-0, 6-0 to Abbot in the No. 4 spot.

The Jaspers conclude the 2015 season on Saturday, when they visit Rider (1-15, 0-7 MAAC) for a 12 p.m. matchup.
