RIVERDALE, NY - In anticipation for the program's inaugural season, Manhattan University Acrobatics & Tumbling Head Coach Hallie Fowler has announced her newest addition to the staff, Kayla Young.

"Kayla's experience as a student-athlete at an inaugural program will bring much-needed value to our operation at Manhattan," said Fowler.

Young comes to Riverdale off a five-year tenure as a student-athlete, with the latter four served at Coker University and starting her career at Frostburg State.

Once she arrived in South Carolina for the Cobras of Coker, she thrived as both a student and athlete, serving four years on on the NCAA Academic Honor Roll (2022-25). On the mat, Young began a three-year reign of winning Conference Carolinas Open Pyramid Championship, winning in 2022, 2023, and 2024. Other highlights from her career at Coker include a Duo Pyramid and Five-Element Championship in the 2024 Conference Carolinas Championship. For her efforts, she was recognized as an NCATA Second Team All-Conference selection in 2023 and granted First Team honors in 2024 and 2025.

Extending her reach, Young qualified nationally in NCATA for Open Pyramid (2022, 2023), Inversion Pyramid (2023), and Duo Pyramid (2023, 2024).

As a freshman at Frostburg State, Young won the Mountain East Championship in Synchronized Toss at the annual conference tournament, aiding her team to a fourth-place finish.
