QUOTES FROM THE JASPERS

Head Coach Todd Witzleben: "The women were shorthanded with a couple of our top athletes out with short-term issues. Knowing that, we had others step-up. Once some of our reinforcements are back for the conference championship, we'll be very competitive. Our men continue to improve throughout the season. Josh [Mingoia] had a very impressive breakout race to lead our squad. However, we need to have a tighter pack once championship races begin."

Junior Distance Runner Josh Mingoia: "Overall, it was a positive day for the team, with most athletes setting PRs on a fast course in good conditions at Bethpage. With two weeks to go until the Metro Conference Championships, this is an encouraging step forward in our development. Our individual performance is progressing well, but we still need to improve our team positioning and race execution, which will come with experience. Hopefully, we can continue building on this momentum over the coming weeks and carry that progression through to the NCAA Regionals at the end of the season, back here on the same course."
