RIVERDALE, N.Y. - After opening conference play against Quinnipiac on Dec. 19, Manhattan looks to get in the win category for the first time Monday evening to open up the home MAAC schedule against Fairfield. Leading Manhattan in the points category has been Senior guard
Brianna Davis, tallying double figures in all but one of the Jaspers' first nine games. Graduate forward Agar Farrés Garcia has established herself as the defensive anchor for the Jaspers, averaging 8.0 rebounds (3rd in MAAC) and 2.1 steals (6th in MAAC) per game. Graduate forward
Colette Mulderig has aided on the defensive end as well, averaging just over a block a contest, including three last game against Quinnipiac. The Green and White will wrap up the 2025 portion of their campaign on Monday before opening 2026 on New Year's Day with a trip to Saint Peter's in time for a 3 PM clash with the Peacocks.
Scouting the Opposition:
•After opening the 2025-26 season hovering over .500 at 4-3, the Fairfield Stags have since won four consecutive games, including their first two MAAC contests over Rider and Merrimack on 12/19 and 12/21.
•Prior to conference play, Fairfield took down Villanova, Lehigh, and South Florida in their first three games to start the season.
•The Stags are led by Junior guard Kaety L'Amoreaux, whose 20.1 scoring average not only leads the MAAC, but places inside the top 20 across all of Division I.
•Just behind her to complete the two-headed monster is Junior road runner Meghan Andersen, as her 18.0 points per game also put her inside the top 50 nationally, as well as second in the MAAC.
•Freshman guard Christina Pham has come off the bench in all but one of the 10 games she's played thus far, but leads the conference in 3FG% at 47.3.
•Fairfield was selected as the preseason 2025-26 MAAC Champions, picked to three-peat after winning the conference in 2023-24 and 2024-25.
•After winning 19 of their 20 conference games in 2024-25 as well as the MAAC Championship, the Stags were selected as a 12 seed for the NCAA Championship.
•At Rupp Arena in Lexington, Ky., Fairfield dropped their opening round matchup to fifth-seeded Kansas State by a final score of 85-41.
•This will serve as the 102nd matchup between Fairfield and Manhattan, with the Jaspers falling in the most recent matchup in Atlantic City, 58-51
