RIVERDALE, N.Y. - The Manhattan College Athletics Department hosted its annual National Girl and Women in Sports Day Clinic this afternoon at Draddy Gymnasium.
Â
The event, sponsored by Silver Star Transportation, had nearly 100 girls ages 5-12 register for the all-sports clinic. The participants had the opportunity to learn from members of the soccer, volleyball, lacrosse, softball, basketball, track & field, and rowing teams today, as they rotated through all of the circuits.

Women's basketball senior forward
Jade Blagrove expressed her excitement of being a part of the day's events. "We're here today participating in National Girls & Women in Sports Day. I think this day is very important for all women throughout the world to support each other. Working out is amazing, and women's sports are growing. We need to continue that support moving forward."
Â
Volleyball sophomore setter
Sarah Emmons had her group of kids very excited about learning the sport of volleyball. "Today is super important because we're getting kids to get interested in sports," said Emmons. "To have their passion and love for the games show is nice. It's good to see them play, get serious about sports early on and remain active."
