RIVERDALE, N.Y. – Three Manhattan softball players were named Academic All-District by College Sports Communications, the organization announced on Tuesday.
Marika Deemer,
Gabriella Mazzotta, and
Lauren Rende represented the Jaspers. All three earned MAAC All-Academic Team honors too.
Rende led the team in batting average (.308), Mazzotta was second (.296), and Deemer was fourth (.275).
Deemer led the Jaspers in RBI (23) and walks (20). Mazzotta paced the team in hits (48), doubles (14), triples (4), total bases (73), and stolen bases (12). Rende also led the team in slugging percentage (.505), runs scored (24), and home runs (5). Deemer and Mazzotta were the two Jaspers that started all 48 games this season.
Deemer is a marketing major that will be graduating this week from Manhattan. Mazzotta is a finance major, and Rende is a physical education major.
