NEW YORK, N.Y. -- In a field that consisted of schools such as South Carolina, Maryland, UConn, and other Power Five schools, the Manhattan College Track and Field team held their own at the Armory Friday afternoon.
The Jaspers will continue to compete tomorrow in a different slate of events.
Myron Corpuz rose to the occasion this afternoon, setting a new PR (13.02m) in the shot put with an 18th-place finish. Fellow Jasper
Peter Athanailos finished with a top mark in the same event of 12.53m.
Corpuz was not the only PR set in this stacked field this afternoon.
Michael Hennelly set a new 5000m PR with a 14:33.81.
Kaya Simpson also set a new PR in the 60m hurdles, clocking in an 8.41 effort in the preliminary rounds.
A pair of Jaspers competed on the women's side, both in the shot put.
Kristin Stickdorn finished in 16th with a top throw of 12.11m.
Alexandra Caraher finished in 23rd, launching the shot put 10.18m.
