Rowing Announces 2023 Spring Schedule

RIVERDALE, N.Y. - First-year head coach Kate Hickes and Manhattan rowing have announced their 2023 spring schedule.

The Jaspers will participate in six regattas this spring, following a five-meet fall season.

"We have a challenging but exciting spring racing season ahead. We look forward to seeing some of the teams we compete against at the MAAC championship. We also tried to branch out to other schools with similar speed to test ourselves and our capabilities," said Hickes. "Building speed and momentum from weekend to weekend throughout the spring season is one of my favorite parts of rowing, and I am excited to see how we respond to the challenge this spring."

The Jaspers kick things off on Saturday, Mar. 25, at their home course in Overpeck Park, N.J. Senior day ceremonies will take place before this meet, in which they will take on Iona, Skidmore, and Stockton.

The Jaspers continue to row at home Sunday, Apr. 2, against Fairfield, Holy Cross, and Marist. Saturday, Apr. 8, will be the third of three straight home meets to start the season, where the Jaspers will be competing against Canisius and Sacred Heart.

Manhattan hits the road on Saturday, Apr. 22, at the New York Metropolitan Championships in Glen Island, New York. The following Saturday, Apr. 29, the Jaspers have their final home match against Union (N.Y.), their last contest before participating in the MAAC Championship.

The team will wrap up their season at the MAAC Championship on Friday, May 12, in Saratoga, N.Y.
