Marianne Reilly is pleased to announce the promotion of
Kate Hickes as the next head coach of Manhattan women's rowing.

"I'm honored to have been named head coach of Manhattan Rowing," said Hickes. "Coach Canale left a legacy that I plan to build upon and expand. I am excited to continue developing our incredible student-athletes as both rowers and women."

Following a stint as interim head coach during the spring of 2022, Hicks is officially the head coach of the program heading into the fall season.

Hickes rowed for four seasons at Bucknell, where she was a varsity captain and received All-Patriot League honors. Following her rowing career, she began coaching. Hickes' coaching career started at Glastonbury High School in Connecticut, where in 2018, she coached a state championship-winning team. In 2019, Hickes transitioned to the collegiate level, serving as an assistant coach for NCAA Division III member Trinity (Conn.) for two seasons. Following her tenure at Trinity, Hickes was hired by the Jaspers to serve as an assistant coach for the Jaspers.

Hickes is a 2015 graduate of Bucknell, receiving a B.A. in International Relations and Spanish.
