June 23 is the 50
th anniversary of the passage of Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972. It is arguably one of the most significant pieces of American civil rights legislation of the 20
th century—and one that has positively impacted higher education institutions across the United States.
Join distinguished experts and advocates from across higher education who will share their personal stories, discuss the opportunities provided by Title IX, and celebrate the lasting impact on past, present, and future generations.
Joining Reilly on the panel is Neena Chaudhry, general counsel of education at the National Women's Law Center; Salmia Rockwell, head women's volleyball coach at the University of Notre Dame; Batouly Camara, a former student-athlete at UConn, head girls basketball coach at Blair Academy and founder of the nonprofit Women and Kids Empowerment (W.A.K.E.), and Candi Smiley, deputy Title IX director at UCLA.
The panel's host is Michael Huseby, chief executive officer and chairman of Barnes & Noble Education.
