CHERRY HILL, N.J.- The Manhattan rowing team landed in ninth place with one first-place finish in the 2022 MAAC Championships on Cooper River. The Jaspers ended with 11 points to conclude the 2021-22 season.
The Jaspers opened competition in the first varsity four heat, placing fourth with a time of 9:33.538. The Green and White landed in the same place in the next race, the second varsity eight heat, 7:37.763. Later, the Jaspers placed fifth in the first varsity eight heat with a time of 7:37.735.
The Green and White had an impressive second half of the day. In the varsity final four, the Jaspers placed second, with a time of 9:13.736. Manhattan kept that rolling and secured a first-place finish. A result of 7:40.190 pushed the Jaspers passed Drake and Robert Morris.
Manhattan closed the day in third place in the first varsity eight final with a time of 7:36.299.
Lauryn Hughes was named Second Team All-MAAC.
Jacksonville won the 2022 MAAC Rowing championship, with 54 points. Marist (45), Fairfield (42), and Stetson (38) followed closely behind.
