SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The Manhattan women's rowing team competed at NYS Collegiate Championships at Fish Creek on Saturday.
On Saturday, the varsity 8 finished second in the B final, the second varsity 8 boat beat Canisius to advance to the A where it finished sixth overall. Additionally, the novice 4 boat won, and the varsity doubles finished first and third.
In the B final, the varsity 8 boat clocked a time of 7:29.859. The Jaspers were less than two seconds behind Union.
The second varsity 8 boat finished sixth in a time of 7:49.518.
The novice 4 won by 0.212 of a second over Nazareth College in a time of 9:34.049.
Emily and Lauren Hughes won the varsity doubles in a time of 9:04.000. The pair were 32 seconds clear of second and another two seconds clear of
Katie Martone and
Janine Gayanelo in third.
Manhattan returns to the water next weekend at the Spring Metropolitan Championships in New Rochelle, N.Y.
