RIVERDALE, N.Y. –
Andria Scaglione won her second race in a row as she took home the individual title at the 2022 Metropolitan Championships at Van Cortlandt Park. The Jaspers tackled a 5k on a sunny Friday afternoon.
Fordham took home the team title, finishing with a team score of 38. St. John's just beat out Manhattan out for second place, scoring 71 points where the Green and White finished with 73.
Scaglione won the race with a final time of 18:52.7, which was just under 30 seconds faster than the second place finisher. Andria was joined by her sister,
Nicola Scaglione in the top five, who brought home fifth with a time of 20:00.05.
Evelyn Gonzalez Valle was the next runner representing the Jasper Green to cross the final time in 21:05.1, a new PR for the junior, which placed her 19th.
Bella Cannizzo finished in 24th with a time of 21:33.8.
Fiona Mohl posted a time of 21:41.5 while
Kylie Conroy clocked in a time of 23:08.1.
The Jaspers return to the course next Friday, Oct. 14th with a trip to Centerville, Mass. to run in the ECAC Championships.
