Leonia, NJ -
The Jaspers returned to the water for the time in 503 days, competing in a dual meet against Fordham at their home course on Overpeck Lake.

Opening the action was the Varsity 8+, which was steered by junior Elyse Holmes (Alexandria, VA / Bishop Ireton) and led by returners in the bow and stern: Ella O'Brien (Sr., Hadley, MA / Hopkins Academy), Emily Hughes (Jr., Pottstown, PA / Owen J. Roberts), Lauryn Hughes (Jr., New York, NY / Clarkstown South), Rachel Foertch (Sr., Syracuse, NY / C.W. Baker) and Morgan McLean (So., Wading River, NY / Riverhead). New to the lineup in the engine room were sophomores Janine Gayanelo (White Plains, NY / Kennedy Catholic), Joséphine Lacoudre (Versailles, France / Scarsdale (NY)) and Morgan Etta (Cold Spring, NY / Haldane). The Jaspers had a clean start and battled Fordham through the first 1500m, before ultimately finishing second with a mark of 7:25.70 as the Rams clocked a time of 7:18.59.

The second and third varsity 8+'s locked in for the second and final race of the day. Senior Shannon Gleba (Midland Park, NJ / Immaculate Heart) steered the 2V boat of classmate Kerry Brosnan (Mahopac, NY / Kennedy Catholic), sophomore Olivia Stewart (River Edge, NJ / River Dell), classmate Maura McCarthy (Severna Park, MD / Institute of Notre Dame), freshman Lydia Gialluca (Bow, NH / Bow), sophomore Katie Martone (Ambler, PA / Gwynedd Mercy Academy), senior Maria Blas-Perez (Woodstock, NY / John A. Coleman Catholic), sophomore Claire Vredenburg (Baldwinsville, NY / C.W. Baker) and senior Alexa Schmidt (Emerson, NJ / Emerson). After a tough start the 2V found their race cadence clearing the course in 7:35.12, with Fordham posting a winning time of 7:14.09.

Leading the 3V was freshman coxswain Kerry Sullivan (Lancaster, NY / St. Mary's), junior Christina Collado (Bronx, NY / Mount Saint Ursula), classmate Brianna Scollan, sophomore Maeve McNally-Cullum (New York, NY / Notre Dame School of Manhattan) and freshman Angelica Niedermeyer (Wall, NJ / Trinity Hall), which closed the day with a time of 7:53.68.

"It was great to return to racing and host Fordham at home," said Head Coach Alex Canale. "We are racing a really strong schedule this spring and plan feed on that to dig out as much speed as we can, and today was a good step in that direction. The 1V and 2V are at comparable speeds early in the season, and that gives us a lot to work with for the next few weeks."

The Jaspers return to the race course on Saturday, April 10 against Saint Joseph's UMass, George Washington, Rhode Island and Marist.
