Riverdale, NY - Senior Molly Fitzpatrick (Yorktown, NY / Lakeland) of the women's lacrosse team and freshman Warren Williams (Kingston, Jamaica / St. Benedict's Prep (NJ)) from the men's basketball team are the ATAX Student-Athletes of the Week for the period of Monday, March 4 to Sunday, March 10.
Fitzpatrick became the seventh Jasper in program history to record 100 goals in her career when she flicked home the first goal of the game in Manhattan's 7-4 win over Central Connecticut State. She also scored the game-winner and notched a hat trick in that contest. On Saturday, Fitzpatrick tallied three goals, one assist and six ground balls in a 13-4 victory over Sacred Heart. A tri-captain, she leads the team and is sixth in the MAAC with 17 goals. For her career, she is tied for fourth place on the all-time points list with 148.
Williams averaged 18.5 ppg while shooting a blistering 68.4 percent (13-of-19) from the floor and 73.3 percent (11-of-15) from the line in Manhattan's MAAC Tournament run. Williams began his big tournament with 10 points against Fairfield, before exploding for a career-high 27 points, on 11-of-15 shooting, with five rebounds against Canisius. The Jamaican native averaged a team-leading 9.1 points per game while pacing the MAAC in field goal percentage (.571) en route to earning MAAC All-Rookie honors.
