Riverdale, NY - Track and field's Niasia Boone (Morrisville, PA / Pennsbury) and swimming and diving's Connor Marshall (West Hartford, CT / Avon Old Farms) have been named ATAX Student-Athletes of the Week for Monday, January 21 to Sunday, January 27.
Boone, a junior, earned her collegiate best in the 200-meters at the BU Terrier Classic on January 25. Her time of 25.30 now ranks first in the MAAC. She also placed fifth in the 60-meters at the meet with a time of 8.07, and was a member of the women's 4x400 relay team that now ranks second in the MAAC with a time of 3:55.21.
Marshall etched his name in the Manhattan record books with his 1-meter dive in Saturday's meet against Iona. The rookie tallied a 237.83, surpassing Dylan Cooney's previous mark of 231.08 set in 2016. Marshall followed that up with a 224.55 score in the 3-meter dive. Both performances were the highest records for a Jasper on the afternoon.
