Riverdale, NY - Manhattan volleyball senior hitter Sandra Lozanova (Pernik, Bulgaria / Fresno State) and classmate Thomas Capuano (Hastings-on-Hudson, NY / Iona Prep) from the men's basketball team are the Manhattan College ATAX Student-Athletes of the Week for November 5 to November 11.
Lozanova served out the fifth set with three-straight aces to give the Jaspers a 3-2 win over Marist on Sunday, November 11. She had nine aces for the match, a season-high, bringing her season total to 76, good for 0.57 aces per set played, which ranks first in the MAAC and fifth in NCAA Division I. She had 12 kills over three matches this past week, good for 1.02 kills per set, and 19 digs.
Capuano scored 10 points with a career and team-high eight rebounds in Manhattan's season opener against Elon on Tuesday, November 6. The senior guard also added four assists over 31 turnover-free minutes of action.
