One of the top baseball players in school history and one of the stars of Manhattan's historic NCAA Regional run in 2006, Matt Rizzotti joins the Manhattan College Athletic Hall of Fame.

Rizzotti made an immediate impact in Riverdale as a rookie in 2005, hitting .416 with 21 doubles, nine home runs and 57 RBI. Thanks to his monster freshman campaign, Rizzotti garnered MAAC Rookie and Player of the Year honors, while also being honored with Louisville Slugger Freshman and Third Team All-American honors.

To say that Rizzotti avoided the dreaded sophomore slump in 2006 would be a tremendous understatement as the Floral Park native hit .340 with 15 doubles, nine home runs and 43 RBI. Thanks to his production, Manhattan collected to its first-ever MAAC Championship and a pair of wins during NCAA Regional play. In the Jaspers' historic win over No. 6 Nebraska, Rizzotti went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBI en route to being selected to the NCAA Lincoln Regional All-Tournament Team.

In large part to Rizzotti's play, the 2006 team also garnered inclusion to the Manhattan College Athletic Hall of Fame in 2016.

Rizzotti then played summer ball for the Chatham A's before hitting .352 with 10 doubles, 11 home runs and 43 RBI as a junior in 2007.

Following the season, Rizzotti was selected in the sixth round of the 2007 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft by the Philadelphia Phillies and would ascend to the Triple A ranks before retiring after the 2012 season.

Over three dominant years as a Jasper, Rizzotti hit .367 with 205 hits, 29 home runs, 151 runs, 143 RBI and a .616 slugging percentage while winning All-MAAC honors all three years.

Rizzotti returned to Riverdale in 2013 to complete his degree in physical education and along with his wife Christina are the proud parents of a son Ryan.
