Rich Williams (Brooklyn, NY / Vermont Academy (VT)) of the men's basketball team are Manhattan College's ATAX Student-Athletes of the Week for Monday, January 1 to Sunday, January 7.
Hutzler opened up the second semester in impressive fashion at West Coast Conference power Pepperdine. The Empire State native was victorious in the 100-yard Breaststroke with a time of 1:09.98, outpacing the Waves' Julianna Chan by 24 milliseconds. Hutzer also finished the 100-yard Butterfly in 1:00.76 to place second.
Williams paced Manhattan last week with 18.0 ppg to go along with 5.3 rpg over three games, highlighted by a pair of 20-point performances. The fifth-year senior also made good on 45.0 percent (9-of-20) from deep and a perfect 100.0 percent (13-of-13) from the line. In an overtime win at Marist, Williams scored 18 of his 20 points after halftime and converted on 11-of-11 from the line, including three-straight with less than two seconds to help force extra time. He followed that up with 20 points and seven rebounds at Monmouth before scoring 14 points against Rider..
