Micah Rembrandt Joins Swimming and Diving Coaching Staff

Swimming and Diving Head Coach Molly Belk announced the hire of former Columbia University Swimming and Diving standout Micah Rembrandt as an assistant coach.

Rembrandt will primarily work with the divers for the 2017-2018 season.

"We are thrilled to have Micah join our staff to lead our Jasper diving team," said Belk. "He has a wealth of experience and is an extremely driven individual who will help take this program to the next level."

Rembrandt arrives to Riverdale after serving multiple roles at Columbia. Most recently, he was on the Diving Chair for the university's Athletics Alumni Committee. In this position, he organized alumni social events with diving alumni and coordinated fundraising efforts, including Columbia's "Giving Day" initiative.

Rembrandt enjoyed an impressive collegiate career, finishing as a three-time Ivy League Swimming and Diving Championship individual finalist. On top of excelling in the pool, Rembrandt also aided the program in recruiting and training, leading dry-land exercises and organizing training trips to Puerto Rico and Hawaii.

On the coaching side, Rembrandt filled in as a substitute coach for the Varsity squad and for the Morningside Muggers, a private amateur diving club that trains at Columbia. To raise additional funds for the Lions, Rembrandt taught diving lessons to children and adults in the area.

Rembrandt earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics-Philosophy at Columbia. He is originally from Longmeadow, MA, where he was a three-time All-American diver at Longmeadow High School.
