Holmdel, NJ - The Manhattan College's men's and women's cross country teams will take part in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championships on Saturday, October 28 at Holmdel Park.

The women's 6,000-meter race will begin at 11:00 am with the men's 8,000 meters starting at 12:00 pm.
Men at a Glance:
- The men's cross country team has been paced by top performances from senior John Dove (Monroe, NY / Monroe-Woodbury). At the Met Championships, Dove broke into the top 50 all-time for five-mile races at Van Cortlandt Park, helping the team place second overall. He was a MAAC Runner of the Week in September and won the five-mile Fordham Fiasco race, where the team also earned the top spot.
- Junior Amir Khaghani (Bethesda, MD / Walt Whitman), senior Chris Orlando (Newburyport, MA / Newburyport), junior Chad Maier (Melville, NY / Walt Whitman), and sophomore Patrick Hennelly (Suffern, NY / Suffern) have all run personal bests in Van Cortlandt Park this season.

- The women's team goes into the weekend race on the heels of their first Metropolitan Championship in more than 30 years. At that race, held at Van Cortlandt Park, the team's 18:57 average finish was just five seconds off the school record mark of 18:52.
- Junior Lisa Fajardo (Brooklyn, NY / Bishop Kearney) has led the team this season, earning a MAAC Runner of the Week accolade and a women's individual title at the 23rd annual Henry Mercer Monmouth Invitational. She set a school 6K-race record of 20:54 at the Paul Short Run in September.
- Other standouts include junior Erin Spadaccini (Wilmington, DE / Padua Academy) and senior Kaitlyn Smith (Effort, PA / Pleasant Valley) who placed second and third all-time at Paul Short.
- Junior Caroline Ferri (Garden City, NY / Garden City), Senior Kelly Gorman (South Amboy, NJ / Cardinal McCarrick), and Junior Keeley Hogan (Delmar, NY / Bethlehem Central) have all earned 6K personal bests this season, as well.
Last Year:
The women's and men's teams took fifth and fourth place, respectively, at the MAAC Championships in 2016, with Iona taking the top spot on both sides.
Up Next:
The women's and men's teams will compete in the NCAA Northeast Regional competition on Friday, November 10 in Buffalo.
