Aloia, Jr. Named Assistant AD For Compliance & Life Skills

Riverdale, NY – Manhattan College Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Marianne Reilly has named William A. Aloia, Jr. as the Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance & Life Skills. In this position, Aloia, Jr. will oversee the compliance efforts of department's 19 Division I sports as well as the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).

Aloia, Jr. arrives in Riverdale after spending the last two-plus years at The College of Saint Rose where he was the Associate Director of Athletics/Compliance Officer for the Golden Knights.

I knew after meeting coaches and staff members that Manhattan was a special place and I look forward to working with everyone and achieving great things!"

Aloia, Jr.'s primary responsibility with Saint Rose was to ensure that the College's 19 intercollegiate athletics programs and 300-plus student-athletes were compliant with NCAA Division II, Northeast-10 Conference and institutional rules and regulations. Additionally, he served as a sport supervisor for multiple sports, provided management and budgetary oversight for the functional areas of external relations and facilities & operations as well as helping with the completion and submission of various NCAA reports. He also worked directly with the Saint Rose SAAC on many student-athlete welfare initiatives.

Before arriving in Albany, Aloia, Jr. spent 15 months as a Graduate Assistant for Compliance and Student-Athlete Welfare at the University of New Haven, where he assisted with the implementation and monitoring of the compliance program. Aloia, Jr. also worked with the faculty athletic representative, coaches, student-athletes and staff to ensure institutional control of NCAA rules and regulations.
During the 2012-2013 season, he served as an assistant coach for the New Haven women's basketball team.
 
A 2012 graduate from the University of Connecticut with a degree in coaching and sport administration, Aloia, Jr. was a four-year team manager for the Huskies' nationally-ranked women's basketball program before earning his MBA in sport management along with a graduate certificate in marketing from the University of New Haven.
