LUCERNE, Switzerland – A pair of Manhattan College track & field alumni participated in the annual Spitzen Leichtathletik Luzern meet on Tuesday. Lydia Wehrli took part in the women's hammer throw, while Killian Barry contested the men's hammer throw.
Competing in adverse weather conditions, Wehrli, a native of Anieres, Switzerland, got out to a distance of 59.79 meters (196 feet, two inches), which was good for third place on the women's side. Meanwhile, Barry, representing Ireland, took fifth in the men's event with a toss of 59.57 m (195'5).
One of the top annual meetings in Switzerland, the Spitzen Leichtatletik Luzern featured a number of athletes that have already qualified for this summer's European Championships and Rio Olympics.
