RIVERDALE, N.Y. - Former Manhattan College men's basketball coach and 1983 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Coach of the Year, Gordon Chiesa, returned to Draddy Gymnasium on Tuesday to take part in the 21st annual Gordon Chiesa Basketball Coaches Workshop.
The event, held for selected members of the basketball community in the greater New York Area, featured demonstrations and discussions on basketball fundamentals and strategies. "The best attribute a coach can have is his ability to give back to other coaches with his time, knowledge and passion," Chiesa said.
Chiesa, who coached the Jaspers from 1981-85, spent a better part of the previous two decades as an assistant coach in the NBA, including 15 years with the Utah Jazz (1989-2004).
