Riverdale, N.Y. (January 10, 2007)?The Manhattan College Athletic Department is pleased to announce the conception of Manhattan College Basketball Weekly, a television show dedicated to providing fans with an inside look at Jasper Basketball as well as other areas of Manhattan Athletics. The show makes it debut on Sportsnet New York (SNY) this Friday, January 12 at 4:00 p.m.
“The production of Manhattan College Basketball Weekly is a giant step forward for the College,” commented Director of Athletics Robert Byrnes '68. “It provides a new venue for telling a great story about a great New York school on a weekly basis. John Daly, our Vice President for Finance who passed away this week, was a driving force behind this new project. We hope and trust it will be well-received by our viewers.”
Featuring head coach Barry Rohrssen and host Ed Cohen, the first season includes nine episodes spanning from January 12 through March 8. Fans can view a new episode every Friday at 4:00 p.m. with a replay to follow on Saturday mornings at 11:00 a.m. In each episode, Coach Rohrssen will review the previous week in Manhattan Hoops as well as what lies ahead for the Jaspers. Every show will also contain a cover story, a basketball player profile, Where Are They Now? and trivia segments, a Sodexho? Scholar-Athlete segment, and an MTM Business Forms? Magical Moment in Manhattan History.
