Dan Mecca brought Manhattan Hammer Throwers and Shot Putters to the Broadmeade Invitational held at Princeton University yesterday. Freshman Milan Jotanovic broke the school record for the second time this season throwing the shot put 19.02m beating his old record by .02m.
The men took the top four places in both the Hammer and Shot Put. Freshman Richard Reuter finished in second, behind Jotanovic, in the shot put with a throw of 15.12m. In third place was sophomore
Paul Peulich (14.71m) and in fourth was junior
Anders Constantin (14.34m). In the Hammer, junior
Zoran Loncar threw a seasonal best 62.21m for a first place finish. Constantin captured second place with a toss of 60.59m and junior
Michael Freeman finished third with a throw of 59.66m. Rounding off the squad finishing in fourth place with a throw of 54.80m was Peulich.
The only woman to compete at the invitational was freshman Ida-Maria Holmgren. She captured first place in the Hammer Throw throwing the hammer 48.47m.
The Jaspers compete again this weekend at the MAAC Championships hosted by Rider University in Lawrenceville, NJ. The meet is scheduled to begin on Saturday, May 8 and will end on Sunday, May 9. Start time is slated for 11 a.m. both days.
