New York, N.Y. - The men and women's crew team competed at the New York Rowing Association Indoor Championships held at the Peter Jay Sharp Boathouse on the Harlem River in New York, NY. Each rower competed on an Indoor Rowing Machine (Erg) for 2000m.
In the Collegiate Lightweight category, Kevin O'Shea was the top finisher for Manhattan finishing in a time of 6:55.4. Mike Vaccarello completed the race in 7:13.9, while Augustine Honore finished in 7:30.4. Will Conseco completed the Coxswain Male race in 7:17.4 and Matt Creamer finished it in 8:50.12.
The top three Jaspers to finish in the Men's Collegiate Heavyweight category was Pat Early, Tom Langowski and Rich Rinielli. Early finished in a time of 7:02.32. Langowski finished 1.21 seconds behind Early and Rinielli completed the race in 6:17.72.
Christine Bergonzo was the only woman to compete in the Coxswain Female category. She finished the race in 10:10.8. Melissa Lynch, Kathryn Vergo and Elizabeth Early each participated in the Collegiate Openweight race. Lynch finished the 2000m in 7:59.02, Vergo completed the race in 8:25.7 and Early finished in a time of 8:46.4.
In the Lightweight, Christine Diecidue recorded the best time for Manhattan finishing in 8:35.1. Danielle Moreau had the second best time on the Erg completing the race in 8:47.02. The last Lady Jasper to finish was Melody Cleven (9:45.12).
The Jaspers compete again on Saturday, February 5 at the New York Athletic Club Indoor Championships on NYAC Travers Island.
