Middletown, CT (October 12, 2003)- The Manhattan College men's and women's crew teams opened up the 2003 season at the Head of the Connecticut Regatta. The Jaspers competed in men's and women's collegiate novice eights, men's championships fours, and women's lightweight fours in Middletown.
The men's collegiate novice eights placed 18th in their race with a time of 24:08.44 over the 3.5 mile race course. The women's collegiate novice eights posted Manhattan's best showing, placing 11th with a time of 26:42.95. The Lady Jaspers defeated NYU, Trinity, and Wesleyan during the race.
In the men's championship fours race, the Jaspers placed 18th with a time of 26:14.11, while the women's lightweight fours finished second in a small field with a time of 28:21.87.
