James Foley

James Foley is in his second season as Manhattan College's head rowing coach and will help usher the program to the Division I level in 2015-2016.

Previously, he served as an assistant coach for the program for four years.

In his time at Manhattan, Foley has helped supervise the Jaspers' practices on the East River, instructed rowers to help them gain speed and efficiency, while assisting with the maintenance of the equipment and shells. Foley also holds a U.S. Rowing Coaches Association Level II coaching certification and a U.S. Coast Guard Boat Captain safety certification.

Foley has also served as a youth basketball and baseball instructor in his hometown of Yonkers, NY.

A 1982 graduate of Marist College, Foley was a four-year member of the rowing program. A two-time team captain, Foley was also a two-time Dad Vail finalist and competed in the Empire State Games in 1981 and 1982.
