Kelleher Adds Former Standout Amandola To Coaching Staff

Riverdale, NY - Manhattan Head Coach Drew Kelleher has announced the appointment of former Jasper standout James Amandola '02 as a Volunteer Assistant Coach for the upcoming season.

Amandola will work with the goalkeepers and the face-off unit.

" I could not be more excited to welcome Coach Amandola to the Manhattan Lacrosse Staff," said Kelleher. "Not only are we adding a terrific coach, but also a member of the Manhattan College Hall of Fame that will help us tremendously."

Amandola returns to Riverdale after previously serving as the Head Coach at Tappan Zee High School and is the Director/Founder of Tappan Zee Youth Lacrosse.

A standout during his time at Manhattan, Amandola led the Jaspers to their lone MAAC Championship in 2002 while also winning MVP honors. Additionally, he was named MAAC Defensive Player of the Year, selected to the North/South Game, received "The Wall" award for best goalie performance in a season (24 saves against Georgetown in the NCAA tournament) and had the best save percentage in the nation (67%).

For his achievements on the field, Amandola was inducted into the Manhattan College Athletic Hall of Fame in 2012.
