Pompey Sets National 400 Meter Mark for Guyana At Beijing Olympics, But Barely Misses Spot in Event's Finals

Riverdale, N.Y. (August 17, 2008) -- Barely missing a spot in the finals of the 400 meter dash, Manhattan College graduate Aliann Pompey ('99) set a new national record for Guyana in the event at the Olympic Games' semi finals held today at the Olympic Stadium in Beijing.  Pompey ran a 50.93 to finish fourth in her semifinal heat and 11th overall.   MORE

(August 16th, 2008) -- Manhattan College graduate Aliann Pompey ('99) ran a 50.99 in the preliminary round of the women's 400 meter dash to qualify for the semifinals of the event at the Olympic Games in Beijing.
